Business Development Manager
Responsibilities:

Developing and managing an industry training and education programme

  1. Assessment of the training needs for this market
  2. Formulation and implementation of an annual budget and plan of training activity
  3. Development and implementation of an online training programme. Eight modules launched in 2002 and an additional two developed and launched in 2003.  Included development of a database to manage the programme.
  4. Ongoing promotion of the programme to the travel industry
  5. Ongoing review of training programme to ensure continuous improvement.
  6. Training presentations to travel agents and wholesaler reservation staff

Contributing to the management of the promotional and relationship activity of a retail partnership programme (KEA) in Australia

  1. Developing and coordinating joint advertising activity and tactical implementation of trade marketing initiatives with Kiwi Expert Agents (KEA) agents to promote 100% Pure New Zealand brand.
  2. Building and maintaining relationships with a portfolio of KEA agents (Queensland and Northern NSW).
  3. Managing the integrity of the programme’s database.
  4. Managing the distribution of collateral and merchandise.
  5. Hosting trade educational trips to New Zealand.

Contributing to the management of industry events

  1. Collaboration with Event Manager for the KEA conference 2003.  Presentation of KEA Awards at the event.
  2. Hosting at industry events.  

 


Overseas Post Support Coordinator
Responsibilities:

Supporting the Los Angeles, New York, London and Frankfurt offices in their day to day activities:

  1. Administrational and advisory support to offshore post projects:
  2. Assistance with the development of regional marketing activity plans detailing marketing objectives, tactics, and performance measures.
  3. Training and support on the use of a SAP(Systems, Applications, Programs) project and financial management system.
  4. Organisation of trade educationals and industry conferences.
  5. Regular analysis and reporting to government on offshore post performance measure results.
  6. On the ground support in the post offices (London - 5 weeks, Feb/March 2001 and Sydney - 2 weeks, Nov/Dec 2001).
  7. Building and maintaining relationships with offshore staff.

Supporting General Manager Operations with ad-hoc projects

  1. Trans-Tasman airline capacity report.
  2. Visitor arrival forecasting.
  3. Preparing financial updates, i.e.; budget vs actual spent reports.

Supporting Emerging Markets Manager

  1. Escorting trade educational groups.
  2. Organisation of stand construction and attendance at Arabian Travel Market.
